How To Change The Mat Size On Cricut Design Space

Cricut Design Space makes life pretty easy for users with its recommended fabric settings. If you're not sure where to starting time with a new material, your Cricut can guide you. Sometimes, however, you might find that those recommended settings don't always work as well as you'd expect. Luckily, you tin can easily change those settings and notice what works best for y'all to get custom material settings in Cricut Design Space.
If yous find that you are using a custom cloth often, only need to change the default settings then follow along with this tutorial so y'all don't need to modify the settings each time.

How to Change Fabric Settings in Cricut

one. Open Blueprint Infinite.

Open up Design Space and click on New Projection. From there a bare canvas will open where you tin can upload an SVG File. Click on the Upload button, and and so locate the file from your calculator and click upload again.
I'm using this free Sunflower SVG download from the Design Bundles Freebies section.

2. Click Make It.

3. Click Keep.

You will encounter your files added to the mat. If you lot accept multiple layers and colors, yous should see your design divided into separate mats based on the color of each layer.
If you need to move the pieces and then they aren't so close to each other you can select ane of them and move it downward a footling bit. This will make taking information technology off the mat and weeding a lilliputian easier.

4. Click Browse All Materials.

Make sure the dial on your Cricut is prepare to Custom. Then you will be able to browse all materials. This is located above the cloth options.

v. Click Material Settings.

So scroll to the material you desire to edit.

When you've found the material you want to adjust, click the Edit button.

vi. Change the Settings.

Y'all can modify the cut force (i.eastward. how much pressure the Cricut machine uses), the default blade, and can turn the multi-cut feature on or off.
I selected the Felt Textile which Cricut Design Infinite defaults to the Fine Point Blade and switched it to Deep Point Blade.
If y'all have a Cricut Maker, the Rotary Bract may work better, so you lot can select Rotary Blade from the drop downward card. We have a video showing you everything y'all need to know about your Cricut Maker and using the Rotary Bract to cut felt.
Once you are happy with your settings hit Save and go out out of the materials settings list.

7. Cutting the project.

Now when yous become to cut the project, your default settings for Felt should be updated to use the Deep-Point clamp instead.

If you desire to go back to the Fine Betoken Blade as your default for felt, yous don't have to worry well-nigh remembering the cut force number. You can go back to Material Settings and find Felt, click the Edit button and so click Reset . This will restore Cricut'southward default settings.
If yous would rather change the blade once and proceed the default settings in place, and then after you select your material y'all tin click Choose Some other Blade in Step 2 of the Cricut cutting settings.
You tin change the default material settings for all Cricut materials. Set up to make a felt project with your Cricut? Check out the Bow Templates available on Pattern Bundles.
